Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST)

Streszczenie:
The Rubin Observatory is under construction on Cerro Pachon in northern Chile and will soon be completed. During the ten-year Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST) project, the 8.4-m Simonyi Survey Telescope will take images of billions of objects in six colours. The survey, which will cover more than half the sky, will also record the variability of these sources. In my talk, I will present the history of the project, details of the telescope's construction and the main scientific goals to be achieved with the survey data.
