The first issue of "Komiks" appeared in June 1990. The editorial
staff was the same as in "Komiks-Fantastyka". The magazine was published
irregulary. Every year between 1990 and 1992 six issues appeared, in 1993
ten numbers were published and in the next two years only two numbers. In
"Komiks" we could get to know European comic of the top level: "Wieczna
wojna" (on the basis of Joe Haldeman), "Pelissa" i "Krysztalowa szpada"
(quite good fantasy), "Burton and Cyb" (funny adventures of cosmic
thieves), six parts of "Wiedzmin", which was to be a hit but unfortunately
appeared in the wrong time. Special attention should be paid to the Juan
Gimenez's series - "Kwestia czasu" ("The question of time") - very good and
perfectionally drawn science-fiction stories. "Komiks" started to publish
such a good series as "Valerian" (four out of seventeen parts appeared),
"Rozbitkowie Czasu" (only one part appeared), "Kroniki pandarwianskie" (two
parts), they planned to publish "Eksterminator 17" by Bilal. Numbers
20. and 29. were devoted to Polish comic art. The fifth part of "Yans" and the third part of "Funky Koval" apperaed (with first two parts). The magazine was criticized for often changes of the lay-out and too few Polish comics.
"Komiks" went buncrupt in 1993, when there was a crizis on the comic market.
