"Alfa" was established in 1976 and existed for nine years but only seven issues came out. In the first year two numbers appeared, next three were published at year-long intervals, "Alfa 6" came out in 1981 and the last issue in 1985. It was not a strictly comic magazine; popular science articles, science-fiction stories and other news appeared there apart from cartoons.
"Alfa" did not publish the best comics. Only two parts of Grzegorz Rosinski's story "W sluzbie galaktycznej" ("On the galactic duty"), works of Waldemar Andrzejewski and Hungarian writers are really worth reading.
On the comics' fan point of view the most interesting are first four issues of "Alfa" because in the last three numbers cartoons became second-rate publications.
